[shess is pretty sure minato will not have left the casino, so that's where he's looking first.

he comes bearing coffee and bread too (because he's also pretty sure minato is still drinking coffee, and he's not sure if minato will bother to get food even if shess got him to eat)...]

[ Minato has not left the casino, there are still multiple cups of coffee scattered around his slot machine, and there is a fair amount of cash lying around in stacks but the jackpot hasn't been reached yet, the number is still climbing and Minato is still dying.

He's not sure what day it is. His right arm is hella strong now, though, from the continuous pumping. ]

[ He has gotten 14 hours of sleep in the last four days, all at one time. He is fine.

He also doesn't immediately notice Shess' presence until the food and drink is sat down next to him, quiet as Shess always is, so he startles just the slightest when he sees the movement in his periphery. ]

week 1, friday

[ Minato has left the casino. But only because he was drawn to the main hall that morning, and hadn't gone back yet. First, he makes a pit stop at his house to bathe and whatever, and finally address this box of his.

He takes it outside to work on, sitting with his back against the wall and tilting it this way and that, trying to figure out how it works. His bloody nailbat lies on the ground next to him as a last resort. ]

[thank god minato left the casino at last

shess approaches him, writing in his tablet:]

Did you win?

[ If nobody died, he could have played through the month. Minato looks up when Shess approaches, and shakes his head no. ]

Not yet. Haven't figured out how to do it, but I can hear something inside when I shake it.

week 2, thursday

Shess... Sorry about cancelling plans without notice, two days ago.

[ Something had come up and that something was war, but still, Minato feels the need to apologize. There's little he can do now, anyways, because two days after the fact, his right foot is still bound and that's his gas pedal foot. Shess seems to look okay? Unless Hisoka removed one of his limbs or something, idk ]

[hisoka presumably did not tear off shess's limbs so he's fine.]

It's all right. I wasn't in the state for a trip either.

[obviously not but shess won't fret unless minato wants it.]

I'm okay now.

[ Now, and only relatively okay, anyways, though still pretty bad. The bandage on the side of his head keeps soaking through, and if he climbed a mountain, the pressure change would definitely cause him to pass out. ]

At the very least, we didn't lose anyone... That's kind of incredible.

Now that you mention it, it is. If nothing else, we all did our best to look after one another.

week 3, tuesday

[ This is concerning. It's concerning not because of the car or the robot, but because of the state of Emma and Shess—- Shess, especially, who had escaped a war with not a scratch on him, to end up in this state?

Minato doesn't have much in the way of medicine or bandages, but he has a bottle of water? He holds it out to Shess. ]

Anything fatal you need sewn up?

[he takes the bottle, shuffling it under his arm so that he can write.]

No, I'm fine. It's really not that bad.

It looks that bad. Better get that soaped and washed off, or you might get scolded by Emma like I did.

She already told me before we even returned that she'd take a look at it.

week 5, monday

[shess is wandering around, carrying a bag tied with a bow and looking for minato. where you at.]

[ Shess can probably hear Minato long before he sees him, whether it's a yowling cat tipping him off or that whistling that doesn't stop no matter how many socks Minato tries to muffle it with.

There's a good chance of catching him inside the portal in the early afternoon, back outside around the houses around noon, and then inside the portal again in the blimp after that. ]

[ Minato freezes when Shess speaks up, the cat running into his shins and looking rather disgruntled.

Every time somebody comes up to him and says "Hey, we need to talk," it's never anything good... ]

[ Minato will be in his house later having some regrets about eating three bowls of ramen all at once, but not a lot of regrets. He's lying flat on his back in bed and the door is always unlocked. ]

Yeah, it was fun. You would've liked it, probably.

It was... like the circus? But we got to be part of it. So it was fun.
