good, they can do this. Minato was on the kendo team instead of the swim team in school but he can sort of swim, he won't drown here. ]
Alright. Then, let's scout the place out. It looked like a hallway... I'll take the doors on the left, you take the right. We'll see if any of them open.
[ it'll probably be hard, with the water pressure, but who knows? Shess is strong, maybe one of the right side doors will give and they can hope nothing important is on Minato's side ]
I should be alright... Swimming's not a problem, and I can hold my breath for a minute or two. As long as the hall isn't completely submerged, I can come up for air.
[ He hovers his finger over the button to open the door again, and counts down from three so they (aka, just him) can time when to draw and hold their breaths.

The door slides open, and water comes rushing in. ]
[nodding, shess stores his tablet away safely. good thing it's waterproof.
he does his best to slow the rush of the water, so that he and minato aren't forced back or knocked off-balance. still, probably best to get moving now, before the elevator completely fills up.]
[ Minato hangs onto the handrails as best he can to pull himself towards the opening, and heads off to the left as soon as the current weakens enough. It's freezing and he definitely isn't dressed for swimming and he's still exhausted from an entire week of doing nothing but sit on his butt, but it feels good to move, all the same.
It's a feat just making it to the doors on his side, but unfortunately, none of them are opening for him. ]
[shess has an easier time of it, between not needing air and not being particularly bothered by the cold (also, because he wasn't playing slots for the entire week). he makes it to the doors on his side, but presumably they're all locked too??]
[ Presumably, there's nothing down here, but if there's anything worth it behind the doors, Minato's not going to be able to find out, because as soon as he wiggles the doorknob on the last door in the hall, he has to double back towards the elevator. Too bad it's filled with water and provide no refuge. ]
[yeah, they didn't think that part of the plan through too well. shess rushes back as quickly as he can, because he's worried about minato. pressing the up button!! come on, elevator.]
[ Small mercies that the elevator isn't airtight, and that as soon as it starts lifting up towards the upper floors, the water starts to drain through gaps around the floor.
Still not a fun time. It feels like his lungs are going to burst. ]
[ It's the most ridiculous mental image, Shess lifting Minato up to press his face against the ceiling of the elevator, but it is appreciated either way. He coughs out stale air and draws in a fresh breath, and then holds it, submerging himself underwater again and motioning Shess to come up for air, it's his turn. ]
[ He took a breath already?? He doesn't know Shess doesn't need to breathe and just gestures at the ceiling again. There's enough oxygen for the both of them, it's not like they have to compete for it. ]
[ Thanks, that does put Minato at ease, and he propels himself up too once there's enough space that he can keep his head above water on his own without bending too far back trying to get at the inch gap of air. ]
It's a relief when the doors open again, though, the last of the water spilling out onto the floor and the two of them along with it all, drenched and cold and if Minato didn't get sick not taking care of himself all week, he's sure he's going to be sick after this. ]
[ Minato holds his hands up, but instead of bursting into flames like he wants them to, they just sort of do nothing, so he sticks them in his pockets instead. ]
Yeah, alright. Let's go back to the casino... Maybe if we hit more jackpots, we'll get more keys.

...Ugh. No luck on my end. What about you?

It didn't seem like they would open. Maybe with more time, but...
[he looks down at minato.]
We should warm up.
[specifically, minato should warm up? please?]

Maybe change clothes and grab a blanket from one of our houses first. You can play with it on.
no subject
Yeah... we should do that. I wonder if anybody else got keys, or a keycard? Something to ask about tomorrow, probably, when we're all together.
