[ Minato pokes at the buttons too, pressing his hand against the panel for a moment and pulling back when it starts to get too hot. It's too bad his element isn't electricity, but it's not like that would've jumpstarted the elevator anyways. ]

[ Okay. So there's water outside. Not enough that the entire elevator car gets flooded, but their pants are definitely wet. ]

It's like how it was upstairs... Do you think you'd be able to do anything with it? Or is water magic just adding more water?

good, they can do this. Minato was on the kendo team instead of the swim team in school but he can sort of swim, he won't drown here. ]

Alright. Then, let's scout the place out. It looked like a hallway... I'll take the doors on the left, you take the right. We'll see if any of them open.

[ it'll probably be hard, with the water pressure, but who knows? Shess is strong, maybe one of the right side doors will give and they can hope nothing important is on Minato's side ]

I should be alright... Swimming's not a problem, and I can hold my breath for a minute or two. As long as the hall isn't completely submerged, I can come up for air.

[ He hovers his finger over the button to open the door again, and counts down from three so they (aka, just him) can time when to draw and hold their breaths.

The door slides open, and water comes rushing in. ]

[nodding, shess stores his tablet away safely. good thing it's waterproof.

he does his best to slow the rush of the water, so that he and minato aren't forced back or knocked off-balance. still, probably best to get moving now, before the elevator completely fills up.]

[ Minato hangs onto the handrails as best he can to pull himself towards the opening, and heads off to the left as soon as the current weakens enough. It's freezing and he definitely isn't dressed for swimming and he's still exhausted from an entire week of doing nothing but sit on his butt, but it feels good to move, all the same.

It's a feat just making it to the doors on his side, but unfortunately, none of them are opening for him. ]

[shess has an easier time of it, between not needing air and not being particularly bothered by the cold (also, because he wasn't playing slots for the entire week). he makes it to the doors on his side, but presumably they're all locked too??]

[ Presumably, there's nothing down here, but if there's anything worth it behind the doors, Minato's not going to be able to find out, because as soon as he wiggles the doorknob on the last door in the hall, he has to double back towards the elevator. Too bad it's filled with water and provide no refuge. ]
