Yes.

[ a time traveling swordsman, but that's still the master's magic. ookurikara and the rest of the swords... they'd never fought with magic before, or against it. it's a learning curve, for sure. ]

That's true. Just as magic without combat skills may prove unfortunate in close quarters, normal combat alone doesn't always suffice against other abilities.

[ it sounds like a lot of people here don't even have basic combat skills though, so kara had felt like he had a slight advantage... until he found tsuru, broken and covered in blood. ]
